Introduction to access points in Space
About access points
The Access points menu of Space is where an operator can manage doors, lockers, zones, locations, functions, and outputs.
This part of the user guide describes how to create and control access points and how to use them. It also describes how to create roll-call areas, lockdown areas, limited occupancy areas, and timed access periods to control access, and ESDs.
Access points process
Access points are generally created and managed by an operator with admin rights (admin operator). This section assumes you are an admin operator or an operator with the corresponding permissions to perform the steps below.
The following is an example of best practices to follow when creating access points

Lockers created, configured and associated: You create lockers and configure the locker options. Then, you associate users and access levels with the specific locker and you can also create and define a free assignment zone for lockers.
Zones created, configured and associated: You create zones and configure the zone options. Then, you associate access points, users, and/or access levels with the specified zones.
Lockdown areas created, configured and associated: You create lockdown areas and configure the lockdown area options. Then, you associate access points with the specified lockdown areas.
Roll-call areas created, configured and associated: You create roll-call areas and configure the roll-call options. Then, you associate readers with the specified roll-call areas.
Lockdown areas created, configured and associated: You create lockdown areas and configure the lockdown area options. Then, you associate access points with the specified lockdown areas.
Limited occupancy areas created, configured and associated: You create limited occupancy areas and configure the limited occupancy area options. Then, you associate access points and/or limited occupancy groups with the specified limited occupancy areas.
Access point timed periods created: You can create access point timed periods.
Access point automatic changes created and configured: You create an access point automatic change and configure the access point automatic change options.
