What are filters in the Salto KS web app?

Filters are a tool available on select pages of the Salto KS web app, including the People, Locks, Tags, and Activity Log pages, as well as the Entries and Incidents pages under Notifications and Events.

Filters help you refine the information shown on each page by narrowing down results based on specific criteria.

You can apply various fields simultaneously, such as name, role, date range, or other relevant parameters, and the corresponding results will be displayed in the table. This makes it more efficient to find the information you need.

When you click Filters, the side panel pops up. You can fill in the fields and click the Apply Filters button at the bottom. You may also choose to click Reset Filters to change your selection. Read ahead to learn about filter sets.

Filters are compatible with your mobile browser, making it fully functional on your smartphone.

What are filter sets?

Filter sets let you save a specific combination of filters and criteria, so you can apply them again without setting each parameter individually. This is useful when you tend to search for the same information. It saves you time and allows you to compare your results.

You can name your filter set, making it easy to recognize and reuse whenever needed.

Click the Filter sets field drop-down to select one of your saved filter sets and apply it.

Keep in mind that you can still choose to apply filters without creating filter sets.

How can I create filter sets?

To create a filter set, click Filters to open the side panel. Here, apply the various fields for which you would like to create a filter set and click the Create button at the top right of the panel. You will be asked to provide a name for the filter set to make it recognizable when you search for it.

You can save, edit, or delete filter sets at any time.

The filter sets you create will only be available on this specific page of the web app for the site you are on.

To keep your filter sets organized and effective, avoid creating a lot, using duplicate configurations, or assigning unclear names. This helps ensure easy reuse and consistent results.
