Can a Salto KS user assign a role to multiple users at once?
Yes, users in Salto KS can assign a new role to multiple users at once, all within the same flow, instead of having to do it one by one. This saves time and ensures a smooth experience when assigning the same role to multiple users, as it is not required to repeat the same flow several times.
Who can assign a role to multiple users in Salto KS?
Only users with permissions to edit other users can initiate the flow of assigning a role to multiple users at once. This means that this action can only be performed by:
- Site Owners;
- Site Admins;
- Site Super Users, who can only perform it on other Site Super Users or Site Users;
- Custom Roles that have been configured with permissions to edit other users.
How can a user assign a role to multiple users at once in Salto KS?
Salto KS users can assign the same role to multiple users at once via the Salto KS web app, by following the steps below:
- Navigate to the left-hand sidebar and click on the Users tab to view an overview of all the users they manage on the site.
- On the table of users, displayed on the first line are the titles of each column. Next to the column Name, there is a checkbox at the top that, if selected, will automatically select all the users in the list. Similarly, next to the name of each user in the table, there is a checkbox for individual selection, which means the user can select a single user or a set of multiple users.
- By either selecting the checkbox to select all, or individually selecting a set of multiple users, a bar will be displayed at the bottom of the page, showing the number of users selected, the option to de-select them, and an Actions button. By clicking the arrow next to Actions, the user will see the option Change Roles.
- Clicking on Change Roles will prompt a modal window to pop up and initiate the flow of assigning a new role. The user must select an existing role from the drop-down list. This role and all its permissions will be assigned to all the users selected in the previous step.
- After clicking Save, the assignment process will start. A notification will be sent to the email of the user who sent the request once the process is finalized, with a summary of what was successful and/or failed.
