The app is designed to streamline communication between you and visitors, making the entry process smoother.

Can I change my indoor ringtone?

Yes. You can choose your indoor ringtone from a predefined list or use the ringtone from your device's own settings. This setting only applies to calls received on indoor devices. The ringtone for outdoor calls is set by the site admin.

Can residents open the door without receiving a call?

Yes, you can open the door using the XS4 Com app even without receiving an incoming call by opening the app and tapping Open Lock. This feature allows you to control access to the door directly from the app.

Can calls be received on the web application? Beta

Yes. As part of a feature still in development, residents can now answer calls from XS4 Com directly in their desktop browser using Chrome, Edge, or Firefox. When you open XS4 Com, you'll be prompted to allow access to your microphone and camera. If you accept, calls will open in your browser so you can see and speak with visitors from your computer.

You'll receive a notification when someone rings, just like in the app. If you choose not to grant permissions, you can enable them later from your settings.

This feature is only available on desktop browsers. If you try to log in from a mobile phone, you'll be prompted to use the XS4 Com mobile app instead.

How does XS4 Com iGO ensure a resident's privacy during video calls and maintain security?

XS4 Com prioritizes your privacy with options like disabling video on your end before and during calls. This allows you to see who is at the door without the visitor seeing you.

For enhanced security, all video and audio feeds are end-to-end encrypted, ensuring that communications remain private and secure from interception. XS4 Com is fully GDPR compliant and ISO certified, upholding strict data privacy and security standards. When geofencing is enabled, it enhances security by ensuring that communication, including remote access granting, only occurs when visitors are physically near the property.

How are simultaneous call attempts handled by XS4 Com iGO?

If you receive simultaneous call attempts, including from visitors and regular callers, XS4 Com notifies additional callers that the you are currently busy. If you are logged into multiple devices, the call will be managed by the device where it is either accepted or rejected, and the other devices will show missed call notifications. This ensures ongoing calls continue without interruption across all devices.

What are Call Options in XS4 Com?

Call Options are three predefined options or categories for calling in XS4 Com: Reception, Deliveries, and Security. Residents can be added to these Call Options by the Site Admin. If enabled, visitors can select one of these options from the phonebook when arriving at an XS4 Com entrance, allowing the call to be routed to all assigned residents instead of one. This way, the call can be picked up by whoever is available first.

Does the call from a Call Option look different than an individual call?

No. The call a resident receives looks the same whether the visitor called them individually or selected one of the Call Options the resident is a part of. This means they will just see the regular XS4 Com call screen pop up on their phone.

What happens to the call that is being received by residents of a Call Option when someone else picks up the call first?

When a call from a Call Option is picked up by one of the residents, the call automatically ends for the other residents in the Call Option, and a notification is sent to their phones saying someone else has already answered the call.

Can a resident that is not logged in or is unsubscribed from XS4 Com receive a call as part of a Call Option?

No. As it is the case with regular XS4 Com calls, a resident can only receive a call as part of a Call Option if they are subscribed to XS4 Com and logged in the mobile application.

What happens when a resident's phone is in do not disturb mode and they receive a call through the XS4 Com mobile app?

When your phone is in do not disturb mode and you receive a call via the XS4 Com mobile app, the call will not ring. This ensures that you are not disturbed during times you choose to limit interruptions.

If you wish to receive calls from the XS4 Com app even while do not disturb is activated, you can configure your phone's settings to make an exception for the app. This allows important calls to come through, ensuring you don't miss anything critical while maintaining silence from other apps.

This feature is currently available only on iOS devices.

How do I turn on Live Captions during a call in XS4 Com?

If the site admin has turned on Live Captions for an XS4 Com entrance, the captions by default will be off for every call. When a call starts, the resident can turn on captions by clicking the Live Captions icon in the call menu on the left-hand side of the screen. This will produce real-time captions of only the visitor's audio.

How do I set Live Captions to turn on for every call in XS4 Com automatically?

To turn on Live Captions by default in XS4 Com, log in to the mobile app and navigate to Settings. Here, toggle on Live Captions by default. If the site admin has enabled Live Captions on that XS4 Com entrance, every call will include captions. If the site admin has disabled Live Captions on that XS4 Com entrance, the resident will see a pop-up indicating that Live Captions cannot be toggled on.

What language will Live Captions use in XS4 Com?

The Live Captions language in XS4 Com will be dynamically set at the start of the call. The first language that is detected locks the Live Captions language for the remainder of the call.

In XS4 Com iGO entrances, the first language detected will be determined by one of the following criteria:

  1. Live Captions will initially be determined by the visitor's browser locale. Microsoft Azure Speech-to-Text (STT) supports more than 140 languages, allowing captions to be generated even if the language is not currently supported by XS4 Com.
  2. Before the call starts, the visitor can also set a language other than the browser locale using the language selector chip in the top-right corner of the screen. This will become the initial language detected for Live Captions.
  3. If the visitor or resident begins speaking one of the fallback languages selected by the site admin, this will be detected and used for the Live Captions throughout the call.

What happens if the language spoken is not supported in XS4 Com?

If the spoken language is neither the visitor's initially selected language nor one of the three fallback languages set by the site admin, the captions will display illegible text.

For more information, see What language will Live Captions use in XS4 Com?.

How are Live Captions generated in XS4 Com?

Live Captions in XS4 Com are generated through artificial intelligence and speech recognition technologies. A pop-up with the message "Live Captions are generated by AI" will appear when captions are optionally enabled by either the visitor or resident. This means the XS4 Com platform utilizes MS Azure Speech-to-Text (STT), which uses machine learning and AI to convert speech to text and configure the captions. The Live Captions AI disclaimer can be dismissed at any time.

Will visitors and residents know whether the other person has turned on Live Captions in XS4 Com?

No. There is no notification when the other person turns on Live Captions. Captions appear only on the screen of the person who enabled them. Audio streams are processed as follows:

  • If the resident turns on Live Captions, only the visitor's audio stream is sent to Microsoft Azure Speech-to-Text (STT) for processing and caption generation. The visitor will not be notified that the audio stream is sent.
  • If the visitor turns on Live Captions, only the resident's audio stream will be sent for processing and caption generation. The resident will not be notified that the audio stream is sent.
  • Only if both parties independently enable Live Captions are both audio streams sent for processing and caption generation. Neither party is notified that both audio streams are sent.

Audio streams are processed for immediate use only. Salto does not retain any of the audio, captions, or transcriptions generated through the Live Caption functionality in XS4 Com.

You can update your phone number through the XS4 Com or also Salto KS. Here's how to do it via the XS4 Com app:

What is the role of a contact person in XS4 Com iGO?

A contact person is a resident designated as the primary point of contact, appearing first in the digital phonebook. This role ensures that a designated individual, such as an office manager or security, is readily accessible to handle visitor interactions efficiently.

How does a resident's name appear in the XS4 Com phonebook after registration?

When a user registers via email, they specify their own first and last name during the profile completion process. This name is then stored and displayed in the XS4 Com phonebook. If the user already has a profile from another Salto software platform, for example KS, their existing name will automatically be used, and they won't receive a profile completion email.

If a site admin assigns an alias to a resident, the alias remains in force unless explicitly removed by the site admin. Changing the resident's name does not automatically alter the alias.

Residents can update their name through their profile settings at any time, but any display customizations (for example, initials, alias) can only be made by a site admin.
