Managing your site
Overview
This page covers key administrative tasks for Site Owners and Admins in Salto KS. Here you will find how to transfer ownership of your site, grant installer access, and manage your subscription and vouchers.
Transfer site ownership
To transfer site ownership, log in as the current site owner using the web app, navigate to Site, and then select Transfer Ownership. From there, select the user who should receive ownership.
Only users with the Site Admin role are eligible to become the new owner. If your intended recipient is not listed, verify their user role.
The Transfer Ownership option is only available to the current site owner and can be accessed through the web app in the Site section. It will not appear in your profile or mobile app if you are not the site owner.
Grant installer access
To grant installer access, log in as a Site Owner or Admin and navigate to Site, then select the Installer Access page in the web app menu.
On this page, you will see the message:
"Grant your installer access to your site. You are still able to use your account while your installer has access."
Click Grant Access to allow the installer to access your site. You can also select Update Default Installer if you want to change the default installer for your site.
Manage your subscription
Site Owners and Admins can manage their Salto KS subscription and vouchers directly through the web app. To view your current plan, including expiry dates and feature set, navigate to Site and then select Subscription. From this page, you can also review your subscription history.
Activating vouchers
To activate or redeem a voucher:
- Click Activate Voucher.
- Enter the voucher code.
- Review the details.
- Confirm activation.
There are three main voucher types:
- Standard Voucher: Starts or extends your plan by updating the user count, IQ devices, and expiration date.
- Feature Voucher: Unlocks additional functionality such as Pods without changing your core plan.
- Additional Seats Voucher: Expands feature limits beyond your initial capacity.
Upgrading or downgrading
You can upgrade your plan at any time by redeeming a higher-tier voucher, even during an active subscription. The remaining balance will be adjusted and the new end date recalculated. Downgrades, however, can only occur after your current subscription expires.
Expiration and renewal
When a subscription expires, all IQ devices become unsubscribed and will no longer respond to commands or allow access changes, although offline credentials remain intact. If you see a "no valid subscription" message, contact your installer or Salto Systems Support to purchase a new voucher.
If the site subscription has not been renewed within one month of the expiration date, user data will be erased from your site. This includes all users, entries and incidents information, access rules (access groups and Pods), and notification rules.
The only data retained will be the site owner user and any hardware (IQs, repeaters, locks, and tags), but only if your site has hardware. If there is no hardware, the site will be removed.
Cancellation and trial
To cancel or pause your subscription, contact Salto Systems Support or your local supplier or installer.
New sites receive a one-week free trial of Salto KS Pro, including add-on features. After the trial, you must purchase a Salto KS Lite or Salto KS Pro plan to continue using Pro-level features.
