Unlike the Salto KS Keychain app, the Salto KS Mobile App includes advanced functionality and administrative features, making it ideal for users who need more control over their access or who hold additional responsibilities on a Salto KS site.
Why choose the Salto KS Mobile App
Depending on your permissions, the Salto KS Mobile App provides you with advanced features including:
- Remote Opening: Unlock doors from anywhere, even when you are not near the lock. This feature requires user permissions and secure device authentication.
- Biometric authentication: Use fingerprint or face recognition instead of a PIN when unlocking doors, if supported by your device.
- Multi‑device access: Use your Digital Key across multiple devices while maintaining secure access.
- Administrative capabilities: Some users may have access to additional site‑related or management features based on their role.
Some features, such as Remote Opening or IQ management, require specific permissions and may not be available to all users.
Remote opening
Remote Opening allows you to unlock a door from anywhere using the Salto KS Mobile App, even when you are not physically near the lock.
This feature requires:
- The appropriate user permissions
- Authentication using your device security (Face ID, Touch ID, or passcode)
Remote Opening is typically used by Site Owners, Site Admins, or trusted users who need to grant access instantly.
Biometric authentication
If supported on your device, you can use fingerprint or face recognition instead of a PIN when unlocking.
To enable this option:
- Make sure biometric authentication is enabled on your phone.
- Activate it in the Salto KS Mobile App settings.
- Store the required PIN securely when prompted.
This provides a faster and more convenient unlocking experience.
Settings
Click Settings in the lower‑right corner of the screen. From here, you can manage your keys, IQs, and app preferences. Available options depend on your site configuration and user permissions.
Key settings
Manage the access credentials associated with your account:
- Digital Key settings: View all Digital Keys activated on your devices. You can reset, block, or delete a Digital Key and manage offline access where applicable.
- Tag settings: Block, replace, or unassign your RFID tag. You can also manage offline access linked to your tag.
- PIN settings: Block or replace your PIN codes if needed.
IQ settings and options
These settings relate to IQ actions and are typically available to users with relevant permissions:
- Generate code from an IQ: Some actions, such as adding a lock or activating features, require generating a temporary code from an IQ.
- Change or remove IQ PIN: IQ‑related actions require authentication using an IQ‑specific PIN. You can change or remove this PIN from here.
- Transfer IQ information: Import or export IQ information between devices to enable features such as Remote Opening on additional devices.
App settings
Customize security and notification preferences for the Salto KS Mobile App:
- Enable Face ID / biometric authentication: Add an extra layer of security by requiring Face ID, fingerprint, or device authentication when opening locks.
- Push notifications: Enable or disable notifications and manage which notifications you receive, including those related to site activity configured through the Salto KS web app.
