Activity log

What is the activity log?

The activity log is a feature in the Salto KS web app that offers a clear and centralized overview of all changes made to access groups on a site. It is accessible at the bottom of the sidebar menu and enables site admins and site owners to monitor and verify access-related updates efficiently.

The activity log records the following actions:

  • Users added to or removed from an access group
  • Locks added to or removed from an access group
  • Time schedule changes within an access group
  • The user or integration partner service responsible for each change

Each entry includes the specific action taken, who made the change, and the timestamp. You can also apply custom filters to sort and view the data.

Salto KS Lite users can view access rule changes for up to 3 days. Pro users have a default retention period of 3 days, which can be extended to a maximum of 30 days. This flexibility ensures better visibility, oversight, and auditing in line with your subscription level.

Can I adjust how long activity log data is stored?

Yes, you can customize the Activity Log Retention Period based on your site's subscription level.

  • Salto KS Lite users can select storage up to 3 days.
  • Salto KS Pro users can select storage up to 30 days.

To adjust this setting:

  1. Log in to your Salto KS web app.
  2. Navigate to Site Overview in the sidebar menu.
  3. Click Edit Site.
  4. Find the Activity Log Retention Period option and select the number of days you would like to store activity data.

Setting the retention period to 0 days will turn off the activity log and no data will be stored.

This setting allows you to control how long access group changes are stored in your log, helping you manage storage and visibility according to your site's needs.
