Tags and master tags
How can I activate a new tag?
There are two ways you can activate or add a new tag.
On the Salto KS web app, navigate to Site and then select the Tags tab on the left of the screen. Once here, click on + Add Tags at the top of your screen and proceed to follow the instructions displayed that will walk you through the process.
You may also go to the People page and click on a user you would like to activate a tag for. Once you select a user, click assign a Tag and follow the instructions accordingly.
Why are the tags 'suspended'?
When you see that the tags are marked as suspended, you would need to check the following:
- The site has a valid subscription.
- The user in question is subscribed.
- The tag is not blocked.
Where can I find the Master Key?
There can be only one master key per site and it's always the tag assigned to the site owner. To change a master key, a different tag needs to be assigned to a site owner or the site owner needs to be changed.

How can someone get a Master Key?
The master key (tag) belonging to the site owner will be marked as master key. Meaning, if a user needs to have the master key, make the user a site owner.
How can I remove a Master Key from a profile?
The tag will become master key if the user is a site owner of any site they are part of, and no user in the KS site can change that directly. If the user is no longer site owner of any site (after he transferred the ownership to another user), only then can their master key also be transferred.
On the other hand, Salto Systems Support can help to remove the Master Key if necessary.
Can I change the Master Key when the tag is lost?
If the user is not a site owner of any site they are part of, then the tag is not seen as a master key, and it can then be unassigned. On the other hand, Salto Systems Support can help to remove the master key if necessary.
