Frequently asked questions about Space error messages

This page contains answers to frequently asked questions about error messages that can appear in Salto Space. For error messages specific to encoder operations, see the NCoder FAQs.

What does the 'unable to assign a new JustIN Mobile key' error mean?

You may see the following error when working with JustIN Mobile keys:

Warning: unable to assign a new JustIN Mobile key. It is not possible to communicate with JustIN services because there are connectivity problems (Code: 1004)

This error means Space could not assign a JustIN Mobile key to the user. It can occur in two contexts:

  • Manual key assignment: Space cannot reach the JustIN Mobile services, typically due to a network connectivity issue. Check your network and firewall settings and verify that the JustIN services are reachable.
  • Cardholder file import: The error occurred while processing a user record during a cardholder file import. The line number shown in the error indicates the line in the import file that failed. In this case, the user record itself has been correctly synchronized, only the mobile key assignment failed.

What does the 'user profile is a temporary profile' error mean?

This is not a Space application error. It is a Windows operating system error that occurs when Windows cannot load the user's normal profile and creates a temporary one instead.

This typically happens when the user profile on the PC is corrupted or when there are permission issues with the profile folder. Any settings or data saved during a temporary profile session will be lost when the user logs out.

What does the 'SNP Network Gateway Error' mean?

This error means that Space encountered a problem communicating with a network device, such as a CU4k, or RF gateway. It is a general-purpose error message that can appear for several different reasons, including:

  • The device cannot be reached on the network.
  • The device's authentication credentials do not match what Space expects.
  • The device is running a firmware version that is not compatible with Space.
  • The device is reporting an internal error.

Check the network connection to the device and verify that the device is powered on and reachable.

What does the 'WebSocket Error' mean?

This error relates to the connection between Space and the Local IO Bridge service, which is required for USB devices such as encoders and PPDs to work. There are two variants:

  • WebSocket server is not available: The Local IO Bridge service is not running on this computer, or Space cannot connect to it. Check that the Local IO Bridge is installed and running.
  • Maximum number of WebSocket connections reached: A large amount of browser sessions are connected to the Local IO Bridge at the same time. Close any unused browser tabs or sessions running Space and try again.

See What is the Local IO Bridge, why do I need it, and how do I install it? for more information about the Local IO Bridge.

What does the 'Security Error' mean?

A security error can appear in different contexts within Space and may have different causes depending on where it occurs. In multiple cases it refers to the same underlying issue as a card security error, where Space cannot verify the security credentials on a card.
