How does XS4 Com iGO enhance a resident's experience?
XS4 Com iGO enhances your ability to communicate with visitors at your door, offering you a secure and convenient way to identify and speak with them directly from your smartphone, from anywhere in the world.
How does a resident gain access to XS4 Com iGO?
To gain access to XS4 Com, you will receive the following emails:
- Profile completion email (only if you are new to Salto KS or XS4 Com): This email will guide you through completing your profile setup, which is required before accessing XS4 Com.
- Site invitation email: This email provides links to download the XS4 Com app. Once the app is downloaded, you can log in using your account. This process will confirm the site you've been invited to and grant you access to the XS4 Com site.

What can a resident do with the XS4 Com mobile app?
Using the XS4 Com app, you can conveniently receive video calls from visitors to confirm their identity. With your site integrated with a compatible Salto access control solution, you can remotely grant access during the call. The app is designed to streamline communication between you and visitors, making the entry process smoother.
Can I change my indoor ringtone?
Yes. You can choose your indoor ringtone from a predefined list or use the ringtone from your device's own settings. This setting only applies to calls received on indoor devices. The ringtone for outdoor calls is set by the site admin.
Can residents open the door without receiving a call?
Yes, you can open the door using the XS4 Com app even without receiving an incoming call by opening the app and tapping Open Lock. This feature allows you to control access to the door directly from the app.
Can calls be received on the web application? Beta
Yes. As part of a feature still in development, residents can now answer calls from XS4 Com directly in their desktop browser using Chrome, Edge, or Firefox. When you open XS4 Com, you'll be prompted to allow access to your microphone and camera. If you accept, calls will open in your browser so you can see and speak with visitors from your computer.
You'll receive a notification when someone rings, just like in the app. If you choose not to grant permissions, you can enable them later from your settings.
This feature is only available on desktop browsers. If you try to log in from a mobile phone, you'll be prompted to use the XS4 Com mobile app instead.
How does XS4 Com iGO ensure a resident's privacy during video calls and maintain security?
XS4 Com prioritizes your privacy with options like disabling video on your end before and during calls. This allows you to see who is at the door without the visitor seeing you.
For enhanced security, all video and audio feeds are end-to-end encrypted, ensuring that communications remain private and secure from interception. XS4 Com is fully GDPR compliant and ISO certified, upholding strict data privacy and security standards. When geofencing is enabled, it enhances security by ensuring that communication, including remote access granting, only occurs when visitors are physically near the property.
How are simultaneous call attempts handled by XS4 Com iGO?
If you receive simultaneous call attempts, including from visitors and regular callers, XS4 Com notifies additional callers that the you are currently busy. If you are logged into multiple devices, the call will be managed by the device where it is either accepted or rejected, and the other devices will show missed call notifications. This ensures ongoing calls continue without interruption across all devices.
What happens when a resident's phone is in do not disturb mode and they receive a call through the XS4 Com mobile app?
When your phone is in do not disturb mode and you receive a call via the XS4 Com mobile app, the call will not ring. This ensures that you are not disturbed during times you choose to limit interruptions.
If you wish to receive calls from the XS4 Com app even while do not disturb is activated, you can configure your phone's settings to make an exception for the app. This allows important calls to come through, ensuring you don't miss anything critical while maintaining silence from other apps.
This feature is currently available only on iOS devices.
How can a resident update their phone number in XS4 Com?
You can update your phone number through the XS4 Com or also Salto KS. Here's how to do it via the XS4 Com app:
- Open the XS4 Com app
- Select View Profile to access your personal details.
- Find your current phone number and tap Change.
- Input your new phone number.
- Confirm the update by tapping Save.
What is the role of a contact person in XS4 Com iGO?
A contact person is a resident designated as the primary point of contact, appearing first in the digital phonebook. This role ensures that a designated individual, such as an office manager or security, is readily accessible to handle visitor interactions efficiently.
How does a resident's name appear in the XS4 Com phonebook after registration?
When a user registers via email, they specify their own first and last name during the profile completion process. This name is then stored and displayed in the XS4 Com phonebook. If the user already has a profile from another Salto software platform, for example KS, their existing name will automatically be used, and they won't receive a profile completion email.
If a site admin assigns an alias to a resident, the alias remains in force unless explicitly removed by the site admin. Changing the resident's name does not automatically alter the alias.
Residents can update their name through their profile settings at any time, but any display customizations (for example, initials, alias) can only be made by a site admin.
