System requirements and considerations for installing BlueConn

Overview

BlueConn is composed of two different elements. The SyncAgent and the Web Configurator, which run as two independent Windows services. It requires an SQL database in order to store the connector configuration and synchronization logs.

  • Processor: 2.8 GHz or higher, 64-bits
  • RAM: 8 GB minimum
  • Available hard disk space: at least 10 GB. (This can vary depending on the installation size)

Required installed software

  • .NET7
  • ASP.NET 7 Hosting Bundle
  • Command Line Utilities for SQL Server, version 14
  • SQL Server

Operating system

  • Windows 10 Enterprise, version 1803 or higher
  • Windows Server 2012, version R2 or higher

SQL Database

  • Microsoft SQL Server, version 2017 (Express) or higher

Web browser compatibility

  • Google Chrome
  • Microsoft Edge
  • Mozilla Firefox
  • Apple Safari

OnGuard

  • Version 8.1 and above

Salto Space

  • Version 6.6.4.2 and above

Functional scope

The objective is to carry out an integration between the Lenel OnGuard software platform and Salto Space. The front end / web application from which the integration is managed is OnGuard, except for some Space-specific use cases.

The main functionalities to consider are as follows:

  • Cardholder management (creation, modification, deletion).
    • From OnGuard to Salto Space
  • Access level and reader (doors in Space) management (creation, modification, deletion)
    • From OnGuard to Salto Space
  • Mapping between different entities (creation, modification, deletion)
    • Assigned access levels and cardholder badges (keys in Space)
    • Assigned readers (doors in Space) to access levels
  • Event sync (that's to say, granted/denied access, or device status events)
    • Events are sent from Salto Space to BlueConn via alarm event webhook
    • The BlueConn OpenDevice Translator polls those events from BlueConn API
      • The Translator has a BlueConn.ini file with configurable options
    • Depending on the event type an alarm event is created in OnGuard
      • Access granted or denied cardholder events
      • Device communication lost/restored events
