Below you'll find a guide on how to update the firmware of your Danalock devices in the Danalock Toolbox app for iOS.
Your devices don't need to be connected to an account to be updated in the Danalock Toolbox app. This means you can perform a manual firmware update even if you're not the owner or administrator of the lock.
How to put the device in DFU mode
Before the device can be updated, it needs to be put in DFU mode.
Choose the device that you want to update manually to see how to put it into DFU mode:
If your Danalock device is stuck in DFU mode, you can skip this step.
Danalock V3 BT, BTZBE and BTZE (Bluetooth, Zigbee and Z-Wave)
To put your Danalock V3 in DFU:
- Remove one battery.
- Reinsert the battery while pressing the pinhole button with a paper clip or the pin tool included in the box.
- The LED will light up purple to indicate that the lock is in DFU mode.
Avoid using a needle, as it can damage the pinhole button.
Danalock V3 Homekit
To put your Danalock V3 Homekit in DFU:
- Remove one battery.
- Reinsert the battery while pressing the pinhole button with a paper clip or the pin tool included in the box.
- The LED will light up red to indicate that the lock is in DFU mode.
If your HomeKit lock is updated with the dual-mode firmware (version 2.7.5), the LED will light up purple when the lock is in DFU mode.
Danapad
To put your Danapad in DFU:
- Remove one battery.
- Reinsert the battery while pressing the Unlock button on the Danapad.
- The Danapad will show a solid orange light to indicate that it is in DFU mode.
Danabridge
- Power off the Danabridge by unplugging it from the power adapter.
- Press the pinhole button on top of the Danabridge with a paper clip or the pin tool included in the box while plugging the Danabridge into the power adapter.
- The Danabridge will show a solid purple light to indicate that it is in DFU mode.
Universal Module V3
To put your Universal Module V3 in DFU:
- Power off the module.
- Press the button in the pinhole on the module with a paper clip or the pin tool included in the box while powering on the module.
- The Universal Module will show a solid purple light to indicate that it is in DFU mode.
How to update the device in the Danalock Toolbox app
When the device is in DFU mode, follow the guide below to perform the update.
- Download the Danalock Toolbox app from App store by clicking on the App store logo below.
- Open the Danalock Toolbox app.
- Choose Firmware Update to update the Danalock device.

Press 'Firmware Update' to update your Danalock device
- The app will start scanning for nearby devices in DFU mode. When the serial number of your device appears on the screen, press Update to start the firmware update.
Press 'Update' to update the firmware
- The app updates the firmware in two parts. You can follow the progress of the update during the process.
During the update, you can follow the progress
The firmware update can take several minutes.
- When the LED turns off, the update is complete, and the device can be used in the Danalock app. You can then press Close to close down the Danalock Toolbox app or Release notes to view the firmware changes.
Press 'Close' to close down the app or 'Release notes' to view the change log for the FW
A manual firmware update can change settings on the Danalock V3. After completing the update, open Lock settings in the Danalock app to ensure all settings are correct.
If your device still has the LED turned on after running the update, please try to run the update again.
