Offline - Device commissioning
The following commissioning guide assumes that the XS4 Sense devices are already installed on site and now need to be paired with the XS4 Sense Server, Controller and Sensors, in offline mode.
Prerequisites
For these next steps, please ensure:
- The XS4 Sense Controller is powered on and connected according to the offline configuration
- The XS4 Sense Multisensor is powered on and not installed on the ceiling
- The XS4 Sense Door/Windows Sensor is powered on and not installed on the door or window
Depending on the required configuration, some XS4 Sense sensors may not be necessary. This is because a wired door or window contact may already be present, which can be managed through the digital inputs of the XS4 Sense Controller. It is essential that the door information is always available, either from an XS4 Sense sensor or from a physical contact.

- Press the pairing button on the controller to start the discovery procedure. The advertising lasts for 10 minutes. After this time, the device will not be discoverable. After pressing the pairing button, the device appears in the application among the available ones.

If multiple devices are present, to ensure you connect to the correct one, it is recommended to check the displayed signal strength. The signal with the lowest value indicates that the device is farther from the phone. You can check the LED on the pairing button: during discovery, it blinks at one-second intervals, and when the Mobile App connects, it flashes every half-second.
- Click CONNECT and enter the username and password. By default, the username is admin and the password is admin. If the controller has already been commissioned and you do not remember the password, a factory reset can be performed by pressing and holding the pairing button for 20 seconds.
Controller authentication screen
- Click LOGIN. At the first login with the default credentials, you will be prompted to change the password according to the security requirements.
Make sure to write down the new password and store it in a safe place. The password cannot be recovered. The only way to restore it is to perform a factory reset, which restores the default password.

- Click OK. The controller Details are displayed. This shows all information related to it.

Pairing sensor
- Click Pairing to start pairing the XS4 Sense Multisensor and the XS4 Sense Door/Window Sensor devices. Each controller can manage up to two Multisensors and four Door/Window Sensors, distributed as follows: one assigned to door control and three assigned to window control. Select the device you want to pair by pressing PAIR.
Sensor pairing screen
- Put the devices in discovery mode by following the instructions provided in the installation guides:

The value expressed in dB indicates the signal strength as measured by the controller. A good signal should not drop below -65 dB. To ensure stable communication, it is recommended to properly adjust the antenna orientation to achieve the best reception. If the controller is installed inside a metal cabinet, the transmission signal may be compromised. In such cases, it is advisable to place the device outside the cabinet or use an antenna extension or external antenna to improve signal quality.
- The device will be detected and made available for pairing. Click CONNECT and wait until the pairing process is completed. Repeat this operation for each device that needs to be configured. At the end of the pairing, confirmation screens will be displayed. Click DONE to proceed with another device or continue with the configuration.
Sensor paired screen
- At the end of the sequence, the paired devices are displayed with the option to unpair them.

Controller settings
- Click SETTINGS to start programming the controller behavior, defining operating times, functions, and logic.
Controller Settings screen
Click Door Status source to define the source of the door signal: from a BLE sensor or the digital inputs. The default setting is BLE Sensor.
Click Window Status source to define the source of the window signal: from a BLE sensor or the digital inputs. The default setting is BLE Sensor.
Click Digital inputs to define the digital input behavior and choose whether it should work in normal close or normal open mode. If the option is deactivated, the digital input works in normal close mode. The default setting is normal open mode.
Click Energy Saving Mode to define whether the system should activate the energy saving procedure when the guest leaves the room. The default setting is Enable.
Click Multisensor 1 or 2 to define the behavior of the multisensor in terms of sensitivity, temperature offset, and IR commands to control the split AC system.
To modify behavior logic, actuation timing, and threshold values, enable Expert Mode
Save configuration
- Click SAVE CONFIGURATION to send the information to the controller and press SURE to confirm your configuration or NOT SURE to review the configuration. The controller restarts when you save the configuration.

After saving, to perform additional configurations, click the controller's PAIR button again. It is also possible to move to other sections, such as DETAILS or SETTINGS, to continue the configuration without saving the current settings.
Controller details
- Click DETAILS to verify that the controller is correctly performing the functions required by your configuration.
In this section you can:
- Check the expiration of occupancy times.
- View the current, voltage, and consumption values measured by the controller.
- Verify the controller's connection to the Wi-Fi network and the XS4 Sense Server using connection details.
- Check the proper communication between the controller and the InRoomNode, and between the InRoomNode and the electronic lock.
- Monitor the signals sent by the connected door and window sensors.
- Access other diagnostic details.
