Controllers in Nebula Beta
Controllers used in Salto Nebula
The BLUEnet Controller is a specific type of controller used in Salto Nebula which is designed to be used where a larger more complex installation is not required. This model currently only supports one reader device.
Cómo crear controladores
In a similar way to electronic locks, you use access points to manage the behavior of controllers within your installation's access plan. In this sense, an access point in the Nebula system represents the physical controller device.
You can create controllers in Nebula via the web interface or using the Nebula app during the device configuration process. Si creas controladores a través de la interfaz web, es igualmente necesario configurarlos usando la aplicación.
To configure a controller it needs to be connected to a reader device, like a Design XS Reader, for example.
For a full description of how to create and configure controllers see also the section on configuring controllers for installers.
Note that controllers are generally connected to readers. The reader is an electronic device often mounted on a wall or post beside an access point. Users present keys to the reader in order to gain access.
To create a controller go to Devices > Create and select Controller from the Type drop-down menu.
To create a controller you need to select 'Controller' in the drop-down menu
Tipo de conexión
Controllers be either online or offline.
Online
Online controllers can be either hardwired to the Salto network or wireless. If a controller is not already online then it needs a parent device, such as a gateway. Si estás creando un controlador online, selecciona Online en el tipo de conexión.
If the controller is also to be connected to a parent device, you need to enter the name of that device. When you start typing the name of the parent device you see a list of the devices available. Ten en cuenta que Dispositivo padre es un campo opcional.
Se recomienda crear el dispositivo padre en la sección Dispositivos antes de crear el controlador con el que deseas asociarlo.
Offline
Offline controllers are not connected to the Salto network and you need to update them using the Nebula app if you want to make a change to them like a firmware update, for example. Los controladores offline no necesitan dispositivo padre.
Punto de acceso
As with electronic locks, you use access points to manage the behavior of controllers within your installation's access plan. As such, the name of the controller is managed via the access point Name field.
You can also optionally add opening modes and calendars to controllers in the access point section of the Create controller window.
See the documentation on access points for more information.
