On the following page you will find all the basic information about the Universal Module V3.

System compatibility

The Danalock Universal Module works with different systems, including electronic door strikes, driveway gates, and garage doors.

To check compatibility, you can send the wiring diagram and specifications of the Universal Module V3 to your system manufacturer. They can confirm if the power supply, wiring, and signal types of your system match the Universal Module's requirements. You can find the specifications and wiring diagram in the mounting guide.

Can I install the Universal Module V3 myself?

We recommend that you contact your system installer or an electrician for help with the installation. They can guide you on how to connect the module to your system.

Serial number

The serial number of the Universal Module V3 can be located on the back of the module. It's placed below the QR code and contains 12 characters (numbers and letters). When adding the module to your account in the Danalock app, you need to know the serial number.

How do I use the serial number to claim ownership?

If you can't find your Universal Module in the Danalock app when trying to add it, the module may already be connected to another account. Please contact our support team at danalocksupport@saltosystems.com and send a photo of the module's serial number. This helps to confirm that you have the Universal Module in your possession. In some cases, you may also be asked for additional documents, such as proof of purchase. Once we reset the module in our system, you'll be able to add it to your account in the Danalock app.

Firmware

The firmware on your Universal Module is the software that allows the module to communicate with the system. Keeping the firmware up to date is important, as each update includes improvements and ensures the module continues to function properly. You'll receive a notification in the Danalock app whenever a new firmware version is available.

How do I update the firmware of the Universal Module?

You can update the firmware of the Universal Module V3 in the Danalock app by going to Settings and choosing Firmware. If the most recent firmware is installed, you will be able to see an Up to date text.

You will also be able to update the Firmware manually in the Danalock Toolbox app. You can download the Danalock Toolbox app for iOS from the Apple App store or for Android from Google Play store.

Click Commands

The Universal Module V3 can be configured manually via the button found in the small pinhole on the front of the module.

Use the included pin tool or a paper clip to click the button. Avoid using a needle, as it may damage the button.

The table below lists the click commands for the Universal Module.

LED signals

The Universal Module V3 uses different LED signals to show its status during various processes. You can use the table below to see what each signal means.

What should I do if my Universal Module shows a solid purple light?

If your Universal Module and phone are interrupted during the firmware update, the module can get stuck in DFU mode. You can identify the issue if the module shows a solid purple light.

If the module is stuck in DFU mode, you need to run a manual firmware update in the Danalock Toolbox app.
