How to locate the serial number?

The serial number of the Danapad can be located on the inside of the battery cover. It's placed below the QR code and contains 12 characters (numbers and letters). When adding the Danapad to your account in the Danalock app, you need to know the serial number.

How do I claim ownership of a Danapad?

If you can't find the Danapad in the Danalock app, the Danapad might already be connected to an account. To get the Danapad reset and claim ownership of it, you can send a photo of the serial number of the Danapad, to our support team at danalocksupport@saltosystems.com. They can then help you remove the Danapad from the current account.

How to change batteries?

To replace the batteries in the Danapad, you need to remove the battery cover on the back of the device:

  1. Insert a small flathead screwdriver into the left side of the cover to lift it off.

Which type of batteries does the Danapad use?

The Danapad uses 4 AAA batteries.

How to update the firmware of the Danapad?

You can update the firmware of the Danapad in the Danalock app by going to Devices > choose the Danapad > Firmware. If a new firmware is available, you will see a blue dot outside Firmware. If the latest firmware is installed, the status will display Up to date.

You will receive a notification in the 'message center' in the Danalock app, when a new firmware version for the Danapad is available.

LED signals

The Danapad uses different LED signals to show its status during various processes. You can use the table below to see what each signal means.

Note: LED signals can mean different things depending on the situation, so make sure to check the context. For example, if the lock blinks red, it might mean the PIN code was entered incorrectly, that it timed out after 10 seconds without input, or that the connection between the Danapad and Danalock V3 was lost. If this happens, try entering your PIN code again without pausing while you type it in.

What should I do if my Danapad shows a solid orange light?

If your Danapad and phone are interrupted during the firmware update, your Danapad can get stuck in DFU mode. You can identify the issue if the Danapad shows a solid orange light. If the Danapad is stuck in DFU mode, you need to run a manual firmware update in the Danalock Toolbox app.
