App keys in Nebula Beta
App keys are digital keys that reside within the Salto Nebula mobile app. They allow you to use your Bluetooth-capable iPhone or Android phone as your key, by opening the app and presenting your device to an electronic lock.
Adding an app key to your phone
To add an app key, you must first download the Salto Nebula app from your model's corresponding app store. Once the app is installed, you're ready to receive your app key.
App keys are assigned to you by a key issuer. This could be a property administrator or a hotel, for example. When a key has been assigned to you, you receive an email containing your access details and a button to accept your key. The access details include the person or organization that sent you the key, as well as the name of the installation you have access to.
Tap on the Accept key button on your phone to open the app and activate your key.
Remember, to sign in to the app you need the following:
- A valid email address
- An app key assigned to you
Using your key
To use your app key, open the app and tap on the key button while holding your device close to the reader on the electronic lock. If access is granted, a green light flashes on the lock and it unlocks. Otherwise a red light flashes to indicate that you do not have access rights to that specific lock.
Note: You can add multiple app keys to the Salto Nebula app if you need to access multiple properties. The experience remains unchanged whether you have one or multiple keys: tap the key button to unlock.
To see the installations you have access to, tap the installation information icon located at the top right of the screen. This screen is provided for information purposes only: you do not need to select an installation to use the corresponding key, the right key is automatically selected for you when you present your device to an electronic lock.

Frequently asked questions
Why do I need to provide my email address to receive an app key?
Your email address is used by the key issuer to create your Salto Nebula account and serves as your login for the account. When an app key is assigned to you, you will receive an email at this address with instructions to accept your app key. See Adding an app key to your phone for more information.
I'm unable to sign in to the Salto Nebula app, what should I do?
Please contact your key issuer if you're unable to sign in to the app with the email address that you provided.
What happens if I don't accept the key that I've received by email?
You do not need to accept the key if you do not want to use the app.
I can't see a key in the Salto Nebula app, what should I do?
If you sign in to the app and do not see your key, it means that you haven't yet been assigned an app key by your key issuer. Please contact your key issuer to request a key.
No quiero usar mi teléfono como llave, ¿tengo otras opciones para acceder a la propiedad? Sí. You can also use other types of physical keys such as contactless fobs, keycards or wristbands. You can request one from your key issuer if you do not have one already.
