Controller logics In Bearbeitung

This section describes the logics used by the controller to manage the room. These logics can also be modified through the specific configuration menus.

Room Status

TermsDescription
Occupancy detectionDuration started from door close event to set room as unoccupied.
OccupiedIt is the state in which the controller enters when motion is detected by the Multisensor or a door open event occurs.
Preliminary OccupationIt is the time period between the door closing and the activation of the Tentatively Unoccupied state, during which the controller performs no Energy Saving actions.
Tentatively UnoccupiedIt is the state in which the controller enters after performing the first Energy Saving action.
UnoccupiedIt is the state in which the controller remains when no motion is detected by the Multisensor and no door opening event occurs.

Room Logics

LogicsDescription
OccupancyThe XS4 Sense controller enters Occupied mode when the Multisensor detects motion or when one of the configured door sources, such as BLE Sensor, Digital Input, or inRoomNode, reports a door opening.
The transition to Unoccupied mode occurs gradually according to a timed logic. After the door is closed, an exit process begins, lasting a total of 10 minutes (defined in the Occupancy detection) and divided into two phases. During the first 3 minutes (defined in the Preliminary occupation detection), no action is performed. After this period, the controller switches to Tentatively Unoccupied mode, applying the actions (defined in the relays). At the end of the remaining 7 minutes, the controller automatically transitions to Unoccupied mode, executing the settings (defined in the relays).
During all phase, if the Multisensor detects new motion or the door source reports an opening, the exit process is interrupted and the controller returns to Occupied mode.

XS4 Sense Occupancy Logic
Windows/BalconyBy default, the XS4 Sense controller manages the shutdown of Relay 1 to govern the HVAC system. Upon receiving the window open event, the controller initiates a 30 seconds countdown. Once the countdown expires, the relay is deactivated. When the window is closed, the system reactivates Relay 1.
To modify this behavior, refer to the relays.
BLE device absenceThe XS4 Sense Controller manages the Absent mode, which monitors whether BLE devices are connected and active. The alarm function is triggered if, after the preset time of 15 minutes, the controller does not receive any signal from a previously paired sensor; it then flags the sensor as being in an alarm state and highlights it as lost. As a final action, if the controller loses a Door or Window Sensor, it sets that sensor's status to closed mode. If the controller loses a Multisensor, it transmits a motion event to ensure the controller can be set to Occupied mode if it was not already.
The duration of the Absent time is configurable by enabling the expert mode menu.
(ESS)
Energy Saving Session Event
An Energy Saving Session (ESS) is a data log that allows analyzing the actual and avoided energy consumption of the room, thereby determining the achieved energy savings. An ESS is automatically started when the controller transitions from the Tentatively Unoccupied state to the next Occupied state, passing through the Unoccupied state. Throughout its operation, the XS4 Sense system continuously records energy consumption data, specifically storing the current absorption. These data are sent to the Appliance Server, which in turn forwards them to the Cloud.

XS4 Sense Occupancy Logic
False occupancy checkIt is the logic that operates to ensure the correct management of the room occupancy status. This safety procedure prevents a room from remaining in Occupied mode for an extended period. After the time defined by parameter False occupancy check has elapsed since the last motion event detected by the Multisensor, the system automatically switches the room to Unoccupied mode.
