## Overview {#overview}

Salto KS supports multiple secure access methods.
Depending on your site setup, installed hardware, and user permissions, one or more of the following options may be available.

## RFID credential (Tag or Keycard) {#rfid-credential}

A contactless physical credential with a secure chip.
Present the tag or keycard to a compatible lock to gain entry.

If lost, RFID credentials can be blocked or reissued by your site administrator.

## Digital Key {#digital-key}

A mobile credential stored securely on your smartphone that allows you to unlock supported Salto KS locks using Bluetooth, NFC, or a smartwatch.

## PIN code {#pin-code}

Enter a unique PIN on a compatible lock keypad or wall reader to gain access.
Some users may also receive a PIN for independent or temporary access.

Sites with **Custom PIN** enabled give users the option to create their own unique PIN or have one auto-generated for them.

## Remote opening {#remote-opening}

Unlock doors from anywhere using the Salto KS web or mobile app.
This feature requires specific permissions and secure authentication on your device.
