# How to edit a guest stay in Salto Nebula Hospitality

## Descripción general {#overview}

You can edit a guest stay at any time while a room is occupied.
**Edit stay** lets you adjust the checkout date or move the guests to a different room.

To access **Edit stay**, open the room detail page for an occupied room and select **Edit stay**.
The option is also available in the room's action menu.

**Edit stay** is only available while the room is occupied.
You cannot adjust the checkout date after automatic checkout has already occurred.

## Adjusting the stay duration {#adjust-stay-duration}

Enable the **Adjust stay duration** toggle to extend or shorten the guest's stay.
The current checkout date is shown for reference.

Set the new **Checkout date** and **Checkout time**.
You can add extra hours for a late checkout, add additional nights, or move the checkout date earlier.

## Changing rooms {#change-room}

To move guests to a different room during their stay, enable the **Change room** toggle and select the new room from the **New room** field.

When you confirm the change:

- The guests' access to the current room is revoked.
- The guests are granted access to the new room.

Both changes happen at the same time, so guests are never left without access between rooms.

Changing a room reissues the key cards.
Encode new key cards for the guests using the encoder connected to your workstation.
The old room key cards are added to the denylist and will no longer work at any access point.

## Modifying additional access rights {#modify-access-rights}

The **Edit stay** dialog also shows the access rights that apply to the current stay.
This section is always visible, regardless of whether you use the other toggles.

The room access right is shown for reference but cannot be changed here.
Additional access rights - such as access to the gym, car park, or main entrance - can be modified.
This allows you to give guests access to more shared facilities, or remove access if they no longer require it.

- To remove an additional access right, select the delete icon next to it.
- To add a new additional access right, select **Add additional access right**.

The same limit applies [as at check-in](/nebula-hospitality/user-guide/manager/rooms/create-room#check-in-form): a maximum of 10 access rights in total (1 room access right + up to 9 additional).

## Saving changes {#saving-changes}

You can use any combination of the toggles and access right changes in the same operation.
Select **Save** to apply the changes.

Any changes made in **Edit stay** will require the guest's key cards to be updated, either using an encoder or via an online access point.
