# How to check out rooms in Salto Nebula Hospitality
> Want to know what checking out a room is and how to do it in Salto Nebula Hospitality? Here you can find a short guide to help you.

## Descripción general {#overview}

Checking out a room removes all the guests belonging to it and invalidates all the key cards that were active within the room.
However, checking out a room **will not** delete the access rights and the associated access points that belong to the room.
These remain in place, ready for the next guest.

The check-out feature is designed for the typical hotel workflow where guests frequently arrive and depart.
By checking out a room, the previous guests and their key cards become invalid, but the access rights and the associated access points that belong to the room remain valid.

Key card invalidation takes effect the next time the card is presented at an online access point, which updates the lock's valid-credential list.
For online access points, revocation is immediate.
You can also use an encoder to update the key cards after checking out a room.

## Deleting rooms {#deleting-rooms}

You cannot delete an **occupied** room.
You must check out the room before deleting it.

You can delete a **vacant** room.
However be aware that deleting a vacant room will also delete all the access rights that belong to that room, and the associated access points will no longer be accessible to guests until they are added to a different room.
